Blah...

Well unfortunately, the last day has not been much fun for us. First it was Makaila that had some stomach "issues" (Yuk!) and then me and finally Lisa. Some kind of nasty stomach virus we think and we mean nasty. Lisa was up all night and was recovering in bed today so it fell to me to take care of Makaila. Thankfully, she is starting to warm up to me and it was not a problem. I am now good at changing diapers, a skill I was always wanting to learn (not!).

Tomorrow we fly to Guanzhou for the last leg of our journey. We are staying at a very nice hotel there called the White Swan which hosts most families doing an adoption in China since everyone has to go to the U.S. consulate which is close to there. And there is a nice clinic there available to us and supposedly more Americanized food. Time to get some sleep but here are a couple of pictures from the last couple of days.

  1. I am so sorry to hear the 3 of you have been under the weather. Better there than on the plane trip home. I am sure you are so excited to get back to the states. Traveling is fun, but it's more difficult with a small child because they don't have the luxuries of home to help keep them occupied. Did you guys bring a carrier/back pack to carry her on your back? Katie loved that when she was her age because she could see everything going on and when we took her off Roy's back we could just plop the carrier on the ground and it was like a walker without the wheels. Lisa has to get on the mailing list for the "First Step" catalogue that has all that cool stuff. Anyway, I am rambling. Get well you guys, your last couple of weeks has been highly stressed and now that you are complete your bodies are depleted of the needed stuff to fight off viruses. Rest whenever you can. Love, love, love the pics. She is more adorable every time we see a picture. P.S. The White Swan has a coffee shop!! How do I know this? I've been looking at all your hotels online trying to find you guys some decent coffee. Just call me a stalker or someone who needs to get a life. Katie said she will babysit anytime you guys need one. I told her she would be competing with Makaila's grandparents and she said okay, but do they speak Chinese? Neither does Katie so I have no clue what that was about. Anyway, have a safe flight to Guanzhou, baby's first airplane ride. Feel better! Love Anne, Roy and Katie

  8. Your family photo is great. You will be much happier in Guangzhou. My daughter had her fast taste of an American milkshake at Lucy's. (I can't believe I just confessed that) Enjoy every moment!
