Happy Chinese New Year... The Year of the Rabbit

We celebrated (a little) Chinese New Year on February 3, 2011.  I picked up Makaila Mei at Day Care and we headed over to China Village.  Our favorite Chinese restaurant close to home.  The owner of the restaurant knows us very well as we have been going there for many years now.  She could not wait to see Makaila again and had asked for us to bring her by on Chinese New Year as she had a gift for her.  We walked in the door and everybody (of course :-), proud mommy) just went... awwwwww.  Yes, she is quite precious if I say so myself :-0!!!!

Makaila had some white rice, fried rice, broccoli and chicken and cheerios and then she had her very first fortune cookie.  She LOVED it!!!  Here are a couple of pictures I took with my phone so they aren't the best but at least it is something...I left my camera at home :-(

Happy Chinese New Year everyone!!!  We do plan on having our traditional (just started last year) Chinese New Year party but it will be delayed this year.

Hugs and Kisses,
Dennis, Lisa, Makaila Mei and Callie

Happy New Year!!!!!

It has been a long time since we have posted anything on our blog.  Our goal was to post pictures/new post once a month... I guess that didn't work for us.  Sooooo, with the New Year, we figured we would try again.  If not once a month, at least every other month.  Since really all anyone wants to see are pictures... that's what I'll do now.  It's hard to choose a few pictures of Makaila as I LOVE every single one of them that is taken.

Mommy & Me

Today I spent the day with my precious daughter.  It was mommy/daughter day.  I had promised myself that I would spend the day with her before I went back to work (I go back on Monday).

We started out by having breakfast at home (and boy did she eat a nice big breakfast) and then we were on the road, just the two of us, by 9:45.  We went over to Burlington Coat Factory where she slept on the way over and in the store.  She only woke up right when I was putting her back in the car.  We then headed over to the Home Goods Store (LOVE that store) where she sat in the cart and looked at everything and waved to everyone.  At that time she was starting to get somewhat cranky so... Cheerios to the rescue!!!  We then headed over to Barnes and Noble for Starbucks (yum yum) and lunch for Makaila.  She ate, and ate, and ate...  which makes mommy very happy.  I then brought her over to the children's section in the bookstore and she watched two little boys play with the train set they had there.  We then read a couple of Elmo books and headed to the doctor's office to pick up her forms for day care.  After that, we went home but continued our day together.  We had dinner, walked some, played in the play-yard, had a snack, said hello to grandma and grandpa on Skype, played in her room some more, went on the potty, had our evening bottle and went to bed.  It was a beautiful day together.

On a sad note, when I came home, I of course immediately bent down to give hugs and kisses to my puppy Callie.  While doing that, I felt that lump on her face again... it feels as if it is coming back.  I immediately told Dennis to get his shoes on and I called the vet to let them know that we were on our way.  They gave her a needle to take a sample to send off to the lab for testing.  The vet told me not to loose sleep over it.  He is not sure what it is... needless to say, my heart hurts and I'm scared.  This dog means the world to me.  Please keep my puppy in your prayers.

Here are a few pictures from our day.

A Beautiful Day filled with Very Beautiful Memories...

Today we took a day trip to Makaila's Great Great Aunt Lillian and Uncle Ray.  We had a WONDERFUL day filled with such precious memories.  I loved seeing Makaila with Aunt Lillian and Uncle Ray and I loved watching their faces while watching Makaila.

We enjoyed lunch with them and then sat in the living room and played.

Thank you Aunt Lillian and Uncle Ray for such a Beautiful Day!!!!

I love the tongue on Callie in this picture!

A Day With the Numens (Aunt Krissy, Uncle Ray and Emily)

On Saturday, September 11, 2010, we decided to take a day trip to my sister Krissy's with the baby and the puppy.  We had a GREAT Day.  Makaila walked for the very first time on her own (about 7-10 steps).  She was going after the puppy and holding onto me and decided she had enough as I wasn't moving quick enough for her so she took off!!!  It was great but unfortunately we do not have it on video but Krissy and Emily are our witnesses.

Here are a few pictures from our visit.  Enjoy and Thank you Ray, Krissy and Emily for a beautiful day.  Looking forward to another day trip!!!!  (hint hint)

Hanging with Aunt Krissy... Krissy enjoying Sprout TV!!!!

Calista waiting patiently for someone to play ball with her.

Enjoying the attention.
A lesson from her Cousin Emily on the organ.
Still concentrating on that lesson and listening very closely.
