:-(

I'm not exactly sure how to title this post so I will just go with how I (we) feel.

This latest referral batch has been a huge disappointment for us as well as another set-back, we think.

It goes like this; they did two referrals the month of December which we thought was wonderful. The first set of referrals was a large batch (all things considering) but the second set of referrals was only approximately 38 families. Our hope was that they would match families up to and including April 5, 2006 (which would put us at a referral in February/March of 2010, approximately). Unfortunately, they only matched up to and including April 3, 2006. Well, April 1st and 2nd were weekend days so maybe one family total for those two days and that is all. The reason why they have been doing two referrals for the month of December appears to be that they don't start matching/referral time again until the end of January, so it sets us back again.

The CCAA has also posted a notice stating that they have been made aware of a child, now approximately 7 years old, who was sexually abused following her adoption. There are too many words that I want to use to comment on this which are inappropriate to say, I feel, on a blog site. The only thing I could say about this is that this will most likely change the rules again and we are, at this time, uncertain if they are going to make us go through anymore background checks ($$$) or other requirements. Unfortunately, only time will tell.

Our hearts hurt, our eyes are red, watery and blurry...
